IGO 18 - "The crane for very
tight sites"
The problem
When local developer, Wyndcrest, were faced with building
a 5 storey timber-frame block of luxury flats next
to Tattersalls in Newmarket covering 95% of the site
area, they were faced with an almost impossible material
handling problem.
The
solution
Wyndcrest managing director, Brian Martin, happened
to see an R&B crane working in nearby Cambridge. One
phone call to them solved his material problem, by
using the smallest footprint SETC in their fleet,
R&B were able to use the only space available
to site their IGO18 crane.
The result
Before calling R&B, Brian had planned
to complete the superstructure in 18 weeks, and he
didn't anticipate that he'd finish the work in only
14 weeks due to the continuous availability of the
crane and increased productivity.
"I never considered this approach until I worked
with R&B," Brian said. "They're the
only organisation I'll go to in the future,"
he added.
